Modular DR.. motor system
The modular DR motor series includes the 3 types of energy efficient motors (IE1, IE2 and IE3) along with the perfect brake concept – up to 3 different brake sizes per motor size – as well as cost-optimized built-in encoders integrated in the motor. The motors of the DR.. series comply with all international standards and meet the new requirements of the IEC motor standard already today.

Modular brake system – The brake of your choice
The BE brake is based on the extremely successful BM(G) brake, but was further developed in many aspects. The brake size has so far been unalterably linked to the motor size. “Less” brake is possible only by reducing the braking torque using a modified brake spring.

 

The new combination options of DR.. motors with BE brakes are no longer subject to this restriction. The DR.. motor series can be combined with 2 or 3 different BE brake sizes.

 

The DR.. motor series can be combined with the ideal BE brake to match its requirements for the braking torque or braking work.

 

Moreover, brakes mounted on motors larger than size 90 have an additional special feature. The brake itself is mounted on a friction plate, which only has to be attached to the end shield. Without opening the motor, the unit can now simply be removed and replaced – even with a larger or smaller brake.

Built-in encoders
The built-in encoders for motors of the DR.. series are one of a kind: instead of an add-on encoder on the fan guard on the B-side, an encoder can be placed between the end shield and the fan. This means that any extra length caused by mounted encoders is avoided.

The DRK.. motors in the modular DR.. series motor system are single-phase motorsthat can be operated on a single-phase power supply (instead of the usual three-phase power supply). They come equipped with running capacitor CB .

. The running capacitor installed in the terminal box allows for operation under many demanding ambient conditions.

DRM.. motors
DRM.. motors of the modular DR.. series motor system are 12-pole motors that allow for thermally safe operation on a 3-phase power supply even if the rotor is blocked. The usual product designation “torque motor” is also maintained for DRM.. motors.
Every torque motor is available with 2 rated torques. Rating 2 can be three times the torque of rating 1 but either only in S3/15% cdf or in S1 continuous duty with forced cooling fan only.
